‘Cancel Netflix’ Backlash Follows Premiere Of ‘Cuties’ Over Sexualization of Young Girls

Viewers of Netflix are already canceling the movie platform after it premiered it highly controversial movie, “Cuties“, a film which many claims sexualizes young girls.

The new movie which premiered on September 9th tells the story of an Eleven-year-old Amy, who starts to rebel against her conservative family’s traditions when she becomes fascinated with a free-spirited dance crew.

Scenes include “11 year old girls dancing very suggestively, an adult dancer shows her breast at the end of a dance video that two children characters are watching on a phone, a pair of tight leather pants on a 11 year old girl are forcefully pulled down in the midst of a scuffle, the camera glances at her panty exposed bum”.

This has however been met with outrage from subscribers on the platform, with many already canceling their subscriptions and many others signing a petition to cancel other subscriptions.

According to New York Posts, over 598,000 people have signed a Change.org petition titled “Cancel Netflix subscription,” accusing the film of exploiting children, showing underage girls “dressed provocatively, dancing sexually” and being rated “only for adult viewers.”

Recall Netflix had also been called out for using an “inappropriate” poster to advertise this same movie, which they apologized for and the changed the poster.
