Early Life And Rise To Stardom
Eric Omogiade was born in 1990 in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. From a young age, he exhibited a deep interest in music and often performed in his locality. Growing up in a culturally rich environment, he was exposed to a wide array of musical genres, including traditional Edo rhythms, highlife, and the globally renowned Afrobeat pioneered by the legendary Fela Kuti. After some time, Xnade proceeded to explore contemporary Afrobeat sounds and was able to utilize modern music production techniques such as Amapiano to drop hits in his local dialect (Edo) as exhibited in his latest hit, Omo. In 2016, he released his first hit single “Say No To Racism” which garnered local attention and marked the beginning of his professional music career. Xnade’s music was characterized by its fusion of vibrant melodies and a deep respect for the roots of Afrobeat.
