Nigerian entrepreneur and philanthropist, Tony Onyemaechi Elumelu has finally reacted to the fight against brutality in the country and the recent killings.
Tony Elumelu like many other businessmen in Nigeria have been loudly silent since the #EndSARS protest began nationwide about two weeks ago.
The only times Tony Elumelu has been mentioned since the protest is either to be condemned by the masses or the one time he, Aliko Dangote, Godwin Emefiele and many more held a zoom meeting with the likes of Falz, Wizkid and Phyno, a meeting that was also condemned by all.
However, the CEO of United Bank for Africa (UBA) has now taken to his Twitter account to react to the killings in the country saying his “heart is heavy”.
The movie yet again gets him a large number of trolls with many asking if he’s just seeing the killings 24 hours after it had happened. See some comments below;
A commenter wrote, “You simply have to remain silent like you have been. Let it be known that the massacre happened on the #12daysoftheprotest. And you didn’t say anything. God will judge all of you. Talk to your friends instead of tweeting. May that your heart remain HEAVY.”
Another person wrote, “it has taken over 24 hours for u to realise what happened in #LekkitollgateMassacre yesterday? May God judge you harshly. #EndBadGoveranceInNigeria #EndSARSNow”
“Oga Tony, after turning deaf ears since….
All of u, feeling less concerned, your next generation to come with suffer for every single pain d commoners & poor masses are going through rn.
God will double you people’s sorrows if not today, den your generation to come,” another wrote.
